One of the techniques that I learned this week so far was the Hue/Saturation with the Dodge and burn tool. I learned this with the sky and mountain tutorial. And let me tell you that was pretty cool to use since yes you would want to have shadows to show that the sun is facing in the direction you would want it to be. Also along with the tutorial with the sky and mountains you use the lasso tool to make the mountain. In which you can also hold shift or Alt to either add or subtract pieces you want or you don't want. Which I think is helpful for many designs and so on, I don't know that's what I think.
As I said before this techniques can be helpful for many designs. For examples I thought of not only for backgrounds and such but like maybe items to be used for the topic of the game or something. It can be used for creation of like places the characters are going to I mean I guess it's like the backgrounds but not quite. Also this technique may not only be for games but for ads, or billboard that people put up. And if I were to create my own art with all the things I am learning or already had learned, I would create many things upon what I need for that game to be and how I would visual it in my head. In order to make the game I would start off from the back to the front. So I guess the big things first and then the small things. I would make the background off the similar tools that I was shown maybe somethings different. Make the earth/ground maybe like a platform along with trees and the clouds and such. Like that's what I think is the big surrounding of the game. And of course you need your character which for me is going to be a cat. And I will just make it as nice as possible I can make it. Really I don't know how I'm going to do it but in the mean time I'm going to learn more so that I can do more.
