This week in progressing in creating the characters for the VR project it's actually going pretty well. Not only are they both done, but the chicken is ready to be animated. Of course there's always room for improvement. The pigs just need to be simplified from the number of polys. Although I'm not sure if we are going to use both of them. It would be so cool if we did as since we hopefully are doing the whole school building. That'll make sure the school is swarmed with creatures and having a variety of difficulties. The hardest part of me was making the models and time management. Then again doing the other billions and billions of things I'm trying to do. These models is like a step towards making this game and actually creating a memorable game. I feel like now since these models are done I get to do even more models, textures, videos, etc. I felt like I didn't really push myself, but at least we're going. Now I can work on the building and many other models along with 360. Which I'm going to focus on. Agenda for next week:

Even though I have been talking about 3ds, 360 and all I still have one thing going on. Which is having to work in Photoshop again. Photoshop as we know is good for many things. And one of those things are of course info-graphics. By now we should now what those are as they create fun ways to export information of graphics and little text. Now what I want to talk about specifically is textures. Oh the fun going into textures. Since we are creating a game we need textures. For the characters, chairs, lights, anything you can think of. There are billions of textures that we could use, but I feel that if we were to create our own then it would be more better. Not only will it give us more skills, but help us dig deeper into what we need to do in the real world. Many technologies are trying to make things online so that's why they need to make the perfect representations of the different types of textures. I think over the years we've been doing a good job if we know what we are doing at least. I have been trying to make my own textures for my models as we progress throughout the year. Make everything original as possible. The other thing I've been trying to do is make my own particle system. Have it come out as a different shape and all of that jazz. I feel it would be an amazing thing to figure out as you can use particles for many ideas in games. Using these skills can help improve somethings in the game as there are many factors in games that make it interesting. Of course I'll need to do research in that as I don't know much about the particle system. As well as for the textures. I actually wondering if there's a differnt why to do textures as I there are many other ways to make something in 3ds max or even editing a 360 video.
For these past few weeks I have finished the chicken, but I there is still some fixes needed for it. Like for example the number of polys, and the different textures for the different parts of the chicken. But the model its self is ready for animation and what not. I really can't wait till it is officially finished and to progress it even further. This is how we have it: make the model, make sure it's set to animate, and then it will be headed to the programmer to have it chase the player on certain restraints. Either way I feel as though we are making some progress, but I would love it if I did more for the team. Of course the focus is now trying to finish the pig. As you can see I've been using mesh smoother, bend and many others. The one I would probably always use in order to make weird shapes are having to make it in a line or 2d shape then using loft to make the shape. I actually used that technique for both. I'm really having trouble with the pig the most as I think it's the hardest to model. I feel that there are many faults lining up. I also feel as though I'm not as fast as I should be. As well as causing trouble for my team-mates. But either way I'm just trying to push through it and make sure things get done. Agenda for next week:
The past few weeks I've been working only on 3d modeling. Although it is mainly what I need to do for my independent project I still have other factors that come with it. For example I have 360 classes I'm taking that will help in at the end of the year or even throughout the year. How? Well for one at the end of the year I plan on having to do to a video of our hard work and some other things. Which is a surprise. Having those skills will also have me do things for the school that no one has ever done. Which is have to make like a tour of our school, but in a 360 video which they can view online. Meaning no one tour guides, at least that's what I'm going for. And not only could I have that but I could use some of that footage for the game trailer, which I think is a good idea actually. Because then I could switch different views of the game and actually see the transitions of DSA into a horror game. The classes help with understanding more about 360, but I feel as though the people in it are more likely to share things that they found, which is amazing. Since now we can make these videos even better and have problems solved. I'm glad my teacher got me into Adobe Education Exchange because then I wouldn't dig deeper on 360 or even in Adobe programs. With that mind set I can even go into 3d modeling deeper as I try things out and figure out shapes that I couldn't make when I started modeling. Just know that with all of these resources hopefully I won't get lost and make things more complex than it needs to be.
This week I've been doing so much things at once that I haven't finished any of them, but I have made so much progress. Not only am I almost done with The Chicken model, but it's looking more and more like a chicken. I'm making sure it has other features as well. And I'm also trying to make a texture for the model. Of course it's just figuring out how to do it. I am doing it in Photoshop, but I just don't know how to start it and make it good. I'll need to do some research, but that should be fine. The thing that my team-mates want me to do is make a light texture, but of course I got notified during last week to do it and I was a bit overwhelmed already since I was doing both the modeling and taking a course at the same time. I was listening to the instructors while I was modeling the chicken. On one of those days I was also making some footage for my short 360 camera video. And the other thing that was wrong in which I did were the walls that I created for GAD room. To tell the truth it's horrible, I really want to redo it, but then again it's just a prototype. There will be a time where I will make a blueprint and do it perfectly. I know I need to suck it up and make sure I am on it with time management upon the three thing and other things (like college and other school related objections). Either way one thing I will need to do is make sure I go to tutoring or something to at least get closer and closer to get something done whether it be the course or the textures.
