For the CTE project we've now been thinking about or planning to meet to and have things prepared. So basically getting a head start on doing this whole project. Meaning knowing who does what, meetings, what we need, how we are going to get them, and a bunch of other stuff. Pretty exciting I'm not going to lie. Of course I won't be doing the Unity part of the project because I'm not good at it at all. Though I will be doing the models, textures, and other things that I could do for this project. There's so many other things I could talk about for this project but really there's one thing I wanted to talk about. I wanted to talk about the presentation at the end of the year. I know it's still to early to talk about this, but really I think it is important to have something figured out. I want to make sure that we have everything planned till the end. And when in the process we can change somethings. Anyways I was thinking about how we should present this project. I want to make a video showing the project in pieces and having the group talk about it. I also thought about having them answer questions about themselves in the video, but I think the slide show is going to do that. And really it won't be that long of a slide show because it's only four people in this project. Going back to the video of the presentation, I was thinking of having a series of questions on the project for example: What is this project about, what do you think it the highlight of this project, etc. I think doing this will help the audience understand what we had to go through and what this project is. And you know the video will be easier for the people to understand instead of having all of us explaining as well as having them concentrate on the video so that we will have time to prepare for the slide show. I want to be the one or mainly the one to have that role in creating it because I would enjoy doing it also I think my skills on film are good enough to do something like that. And I have a vision on how the video is going to start, what effects I should use, music, and other things as well. Of course I would have to check in with my group to see whether this idea is good for use, to see what is going to be shown, and what aspects are okay. Overall hopefully this plan will go far as well as this project.

In the assignments listed for me to do in Unity there is one on painting terrains for a environment scene. I never knew that you could do that in Unity, I thought it was only programming, putting in assets, plat-former builder, and other things, but I didn't know you could paint inside Unity, only make the colors change using RBGA. But to the main point environments are important for games and well, life. Although I will be focusing environments in the gaming world.
In this article I found I think it gives out really good information upon both the architecture and the architecture in video games. One thing that caught my eye was when the author said this "Architecture can tell a story, evoke emotion and shape player experience more effectively than any other aspect of your game. You can have the best characters, story-line, and UI graphics, but without an equally considerate approach to architecture, your player experience will always fall short of its fullest potential" (archvirtual.com/2013/02/09/the-importance-of-architecture-in-video-games-and-virtual-worlds/). I thought it was a great way of saying how the environment is very motivated on the whole game itself and the player. And really I feel the same way too. If the environment isn't good and or not fit for the game then really I feel like you should change that. You see I think in order to get that environment you need to make sure that the characters, art style, enemies, your point across, etc. Things like that up that environment or you could do vice versa but who knows. Overall doing your architecture homework and doing many changes so that the environment and everything else can come together as a whole. Summary Box:
We are in the third quarter and we have a week left of it. It's really exciting and scary at the same time. First off we know that the school year is about to end. Meaning summer break, summer jobs, vacations, and even more events. And mostly since it's my junior year I'm about to be a senior. I'm about to leave and mark myself onto this world. I will do amazing things (that I think are amazing) and make sure to have fun as well. The scary part of going into the last quarter is that I'll be doing the end of year exams, college applications, finding the right college, and all of that. I will also be graduating which means I will be parting ways with my peers. And that scares me and makes me sad. But I know all will be fine. Going back to exams in DSA you can be exempt from electives. In order to be exempt you need an A with less than 4 absences (I think) in order to not take it or a B with less than 3 absences. My electives are Orchestra, Game Art & Design, and Spanish. In orchestra I usually get exempted from it since my orthodontics appointments are excused and they don't count. In GAD I'm hoping to be exempt and right now it looks like I will be able to. Which is fantastic because I really don't want to take it. Next up is spanish and I'm not to worried about not being exempted. Overall I'm just hoping this year I will have good grades and make sure things in the future can be fun and challenging like the CTE project I am in. Looking forward to senior year!
Right now we are using Unity for 3D games. When I first started working in Unity I have been using Monodevelop the whole time. But recently I switched over to Visual Studios and one reason was because for some reason it kept going to Visual Studios so really I started to use it. And yes I did figure out why it happened and well still it was too late. I've noticed some differences between the two, but of course the question on "which is better?". I actually never knew that Visual Studios was a thing for coding. I thought it was for something else that contributed to Monodevelop. Of course there are probably pros and cons upon using one among the other one, but I feel as though if it works then it's good for me.
In this website (ironic.games/coding-games/unity-development-monodevelop-vs-visual-studio) it talks about both and it talks about pros and cons upon both. They talk about style (which I didn't think really mattered), resources, features, and other things that were built upon. What I've learned form this website is that although both have a good stance, Visual S. is a more easy-going while Monodevelop is more business base. Visual S. has more features which is better in ways but you want to have a variety of things for what ever you are doing. But for I found is that even though Visual Studios has more things to offer Monodevelop has resources that are more stable. And well both really are great since both make sure what is wrong. They also wold help me or at least suggest what to do it make is the script work. I think trying both can be good to know which one works for you and what you are working on. But as for me I will be using Visual Studios since you need a Microsoft account in which case I do have. Summary box:
