In this reflection I will actually will be talking about 360 videos because I do have some knowledge on it. Even though I didn't get to finish working and processing how to do it. But like I said once I do get to work things out I will be gladly to share that information to my teacher. Since I know he likes to be knowledgeable as well. But I guess I will be looking mostly in Adobe since I do even believe they had a class that showed how to 360 videos. I would like to get into that class again and try it out. Now I feel as though that not only do I have to know how to use Adobe After Effects, but I could probably also use 3ds Max. Because you see I think I could use the 360 video in order to make a nice view of somewhere. Some ideas that I though of was having to use this for others to view on hotels and such. But really it would be nice to have something like this to maybe see what a room looks like when you put a couch or a table inside. That would be cool to do and see. Actually the thing I wanted to touch on was what software I could use while editing. Of course, I could use Adobe After Effects or Adobe Premiere. But through this website I also found out that you could edit 360 videos on your mobile phone as well. There is even one for androids, which is cool. (medium.com/@letsveer/top-12-vr-360-video-editing-software-for-your-phone-and-laptop-a66186114a84) This is the website I found that gave me a list of software that I could try and I do plan on trying these. We'll see how things come out because it would be amazing to see whether they work or not.

I'm not too sure what I really what to reflect on. I know that there are plenty of things that I can research on upon having to focus on 3D modeling. I could also see what I can find out on 360 videos. Since I would still like to learn about that and even help out my teacher with it so that maybe he can add assignments, that are similar since I'm pretty sure the school won't let us have more 360 cameras, to be even more modern I guess I should say. Anyways for 3D modeling I will want to know more about what to do in working with Polys. Or at least know about the over Properties. But not only there are Editable Poly, but there is also Editable Mesh. Now I have been wondering the depth in those because I know that they are different (clearly), but I need to know what types of things I can do in order to maybe work on other projects. Because I know that I will be still working in 3d modeling. If I were to be able to do this whole project again I would absolutely do things differently and make sure things are done since I would know what to do. There would be less problems. Anyways getting back in hand I have found out that in Editable Mesh you convert the object and is defined by triangles. In Editable Poly you do it and it does the faces. Here in this website there are lots of questions with answers that helped me differentiate the two. (forums.autodesk.com/t5/3ds-max-forum/performance-edit-mesh-vs-edit-poly/td-p/6854559)
I was searching the web for something new and I wanted to learn something new in 3D modeling. Something more advanced than what I'm doing or just adding to what I know. For example maybe I could learn how to merge 2D objects inside 3ds Max. Or better yet I could have a scene with people in it as well without having to do the spines and such. I found this website where it puts 3ds people, 3ds Max, Photoshop, and V-Ray all in one scene. Not only is it something new, but it gives me ideas on maybe my portfolio or just for fun. This could possible help me with doing animations in 3ds Max as well. As well as having to touch Photoshop in a different way. Basically in this tutorial you have a scene and you are importing them from GOBOTREE, which is a website full of 3D and 2D assets that you can use in projects. I find it very interesting since not only do you import it, but you can make changes to them in Photoshop. For example you can edit the shading of that person depending on where he/she is in that scene. And I think that's helpful since not everything is perfect to your scene in one go. I would love to try this to help with what I imagine for an idea of a house.
Website-(jamiecardoso-mentalray.blogspot.com/2019/04/3d-people-3ds-max-vray-photoshop.html) The For this reflection we shall talk about the UVW mapping for, you guess it, textures! Oh how it helped me throughout this project, but I would love to take it further than just doing the basics. I would love to learn an easy way to do put on textures because it'll probably make the texture more realistic which is what I am aiming for. Since I plan on building up my skills to make sure I am comfortable in any position I am in for any project. I might even need to showcase skills and I would much rather have something rather than nothing. I actually found this website (www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/130484/uv_mapping_tips_and_tricks.php) that gives helpful explanations on the type of mapping and gives other options that I could use for texturing characters which is interesting. I think this would be helpful to learn in later times where I might have to create a character or even a prototype of a game. I can learn advanced things and I don't think it would be hard, but it depends. I thought that I have done one of them where you have the textures laid out and once you put it in the character with the UV mapping then it would fit. I remember doing that with models, which kind of scared me, but at the same time it interested me. I plan on using these techniques when doing anything really because you don't just want to drop the material to the object, that's just wrong on my account. I see it as cool when we have to make sure if it be planar or cylinder that it fits and there are different things that you need to consider like fro example you don't want to pick he box when it's a tree. You might want to put it in a cylinder instead. The one I actually want to research more is the Shrink Wrap because I don't really know what it is used for.
W e are still in the 3ds Max trying to finish the whole building. But one thing I'm also doing is going into Adobe Photoshop to fix the textures. One thing that I think I will know are of course, the basics. I have worked in Photoshop, but I am not a pro or whatsoever. I still remember the time I first touched or even opened Adobe Photoshop, I was shocked, but amazed. I really didn't know what I was doing. I even remember doing this test on if I knew how to work in Photoshop. What I had to do was manipulate what my teacher made and I failed terribly. But I wish to know some tricks that could help me with fixing up the textures or even to do other projects. I found this website where it shows me some things that beginners can do, www.makeuseof.com/tag/introductory-photoshop-skills-for-the-beginning-photographer/. One thing I know I will be using is having to remove certain objects in the picture. But then again it would be helpful anyways when I'm working on something else. And there are many other tools you can use when removing something in the picture. I feel as though I need to try them all out so that I could see which ones does it best for whichever one. What I thought was cool was having to add a frame to the picture in a very different way that what I though of doing. I think that's cool to do when maybe putting a student's artwork in a game....and then putting the credits on that as well. Just an idea.
You can do many thing in 3ds Max. And there's many interactions that you can do within. Shortcuts to be discovered, meaning easier ways to make models. To be honest I was looking through the news and I was this website and I thought it would be interesting because it was titled "Interactive Tools for 3ds Max" 80.lv/articles/interactive-tools-for-3ds-max/. Sounds great right? Well I took a look at it and I saw that there are some interesting controls for let's say chamfer or doing the interactive symmetry modifier. And to be honest the interactive symmetry modifier looks really cool and I really think that it could help me doing some cool artwork in the game. Of course I would also use that to do some cool artwork of my own. Although there are a lot of keys to help you out, I think you really just need some of them. With this I could learn more shortcuts in 3ds Max and maybe be a professional in 3ds Max because I do plan on having my portfolio include 3d models and some 2d artwork. The reason I'm talking about this is because I'm trying to figure how to save some time by not having to move the mouse so much to the point where I need to do all the time. Because there are somethings that I would have to go back and forth. Of course, you might just have to do it by hand or by copying it, but there are some problems to that. I really glad I found this because now I can play around and make sure I know what keys I can press to change the number of segments or have to bevel the shape into something else.
There are many techniques I can use in 3ds max. Whether it's something different or entirely the same. Of course the only thing I've been doing is the normal and basics operations. Then again what I'm looking forward is the transactions of having to do more than walls and then putting in textures. One thing that I might try on other buildings is doing Splines. Having to choose the Rectangle. When I looked at some of the tutorials it made things look much easier to build. But then again I don't know whether I could do the same with the blueprints that I imported in 3ds Max. I really would love to try it out since I feel the building would be better. Mostly since there are second floor building and three story buildings. Not only will this improve things, but it will making blueprints easier than going into AutoCAD or any other program. And I could also do the same for windows! Which is more nicer because there are lots of windows in DSA and even in other places as well. And well what if I ever wanted to make a blueprint of a house that I want to create? You never know. Either way the splines is something I will be trying next
It's almost the end of the quarter and well I have been working on the 3d model of the Atrium building. If I'm being completely honest it's taking a while. I'm really feeling the pressure of having this done. Because many things seem to be out of place. Either way upon having to solely focus on 3d modeling there is one thing I found out that would be easier to use Compound Objects. In this you can add operations which includes: subtract, merge, boolean, scatter, connect, and others. Up till now I've been working with the subtract operation. The reason for that is put in the windows and doors. Really after that I haven't done anything outside of this. But I will love to try the other operations as well. I'm most interested in the scatter operation. Because if I were to do that I think it would an interesting animation to put on. Not only that, but I could use the other operations as well. Even not much has been happening there's still that area where I need to know more technique in 3ds max which the Compound Objects is one of them.
In this reflection I will be reviewing a game. What Game? Just Dance 2019. As we know Just Dance is a game where you dance to the moves that you see during a song. This series of games have been going on since 2009 when it came out for the Nintendo Wii. Yes of course I have over Just Dance games, but 2019 caught my eye. The only reason it caught my eye is because it had a wide range of different music genres. Then again it also has music that I listen to personally in which case people asked for the song to be in. Once you get this game they get your information like your name and something new is having to know where you are from, whether it be in the United States or somewhere else. They have this feature because you get to see what other players high scores are on a song. I feel as though that's a good driven factor to have in a game, a classic. Who wouldn't want to beat someone at their favorite song. Not only does this game give new dance moves, different backgrounds and effects, but it also has similar features to any of the older games. The rating for graphics is 8, music is 9 (some aren't my taste), controls is 9 and the gameplay is 9 as well. And I know they have been doing so much in order to complete this game. From planning and many other new skills/techniques I believe they made an amazing job.
There were lots of things that have been going on for the past weeks on this quarter. From shifting to one project to another everything's been out of place for me. For about two weeks I've been working on 360 videos in Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects. Now that I have moved into 3ds Max I've been making progress. I've been looking up information to help improve my skills in 3ds Max as a whole. Because I feel as though I can do more than what I can do now. From creating walls, stairs, railings and other models I though it was time to do more detailed models in general. I thought it would be a nice idea to know how to make seats and even weird shapes. I've been wanting to use a technique in 3ds Max called Topology Freeform Function. What this function help with is simplifying the models because of the massive number of polys produced. In the function I can use many new ways of creating models in a different system. From bridging, isolation mode and more there's a lot I would like to explore through 3ds Max. There are tutorials that help shape what it does and how to use some of the tools in the Topology Freeform Function (area.autodesk.com/tutorials/series/3ds-max-modeling-techniques/3ds-max-modeling-techniquestopology-freeform-function/ and area.autodesk.com/tutorials/series/3ds-max-modeling-techniques/3ds-max-modeling-techniques-topology-freeform-function-part-2/). I would try this on not only the Chicken and Pigs, but as well as other models that I will have to create. Like for example chairs, desks, and many more.
