- Measurement (if needed)
- All floor plans of the Main Building
- Try out 2D CAD (If it works, then import it to 3DS Max to create the building)
This is the first week of school and we are already starting to plan for the project. Everyday is crunch time as our teacher puts it. This week what I did is making sure I plan what I need to do upon making the 3D models. We decided to start small and do one build, which is the main building. I needed to take reference pictures of the whole building. Counting the rooms and try to figure out the measurements. To make things easier for us making the models we asked the assistant principal whether they have the blue print of the whole school with measurement. If that doesn't work then another idea we have is to get the school's fire alarm map and go from there. I also needed to do research on how to make walls, windows, stairs, etc. and there is a way to make them, but of course I have twist some of them to make it look like our school. I ran into 2D CAD in 3DS Max which is basically having a blue print in 3ds max and actually making it easier to make the walls without the actually measurements. We might have to scale it to size, but that can easily be done. In a way I accomplish some of my plans since I ran into other things that could help along the way. Really what this week was for is to get back in working mode and see what I need to do for the whole year. Although time was a bit of an issue I did do some work upon CAD. For CAD I went to AutoCAD (www.autodesk.com/products/autocad/overview)I wanted to hurry this research up, but you know it takes time. I had to make sure it's what we want to make modeling easy as possible. Agenda For Next Week
