At first I thought I was going to do Mudbox, but then I ran into some problems. Then I thought of doing something in VR. Once it was recommendations time there were some of my classmates, wanting to go in Advanced Studies, that also wanted to do VR. Now VR was a option, but for a team project. So my teacher talked to everyone who wanted to do it and made us in a group. So now it's a solid contract that I m working in the field of VR. Of course if I pass that is. Right now me being me I'm already thinking about what we will do and really I want to start the plan because who knows how long it will take. We only have a year to do this and I would like to start once summer vacation starts. I mean to be honest all of my team mates have exceptional skills and I think of what roles they can be if I were to do that in the first place. For what I know neither of us have much knowledge on VR, which is fine for me because it's a challenge, and I love challenges. Although this project will probably be around Unity, 3Ds max, and others. Of course that means I would need to do some research on VR and other programs for the project. This is a very big project so I want to make sure I am prepared for it and learn from it as well. One thing I will say that I believe VR is becoming more popular at least in my opinion. Real world and serious games are getting better. In colleges we see that we can see the campus in virtual mode. And so why not make our school one? This of course won't be as huge since we are only in high school, but our school is bigger than other high schools. I'm hoping that I could be very helpful and that we are all successful in this project.

We have moved from 3D modeling to Unity. This year we are doing Unity 3D. Now I have been doing tutorials in Unity and it's pretty similar to the tutorials upon doing them in 2D mode. As before we are doing scripts in C#. Unity as we know is a game engine or to put it in their words "A cross-platform game engine developed by Unity Technologies, which is primarily used to develop both three-dimensional and two-dimensional video games and simulations for computers, consoles, and mobile devices. ". We have been using Unity for two years (or at least I have) and it's always giving me troubles. And being in 3D mode there aren't any differences upon doing games in 2D mode. But there are somethings that are very interesting in 3D mode.
Unity gives me emails about learning more in C# and the way Unity works. Unity has really branched off in developing more, learning new ways to teach, programs, etc. (unity3d.com/). We can see that they have partners with big companies like Nintendo, Microsoft, and Google. There are even ads about Unity, saying that you could learn how to build your own game. It really surprised me. Unity has also been updating, they have their own community, events, etc. I do recommend looking in their website and check things out. As well as play around and see what they got. Really you can just download and do tutorials. There are beginner difficulties tutorials and in those they help you put upon explaining what they are doing, and why. Of course I recommend doing more researching on C# because it will help you understand more, and take it from me I suck at coding, but there are somethings that you need to do anyways. If you have every done a game in Unity you would know how critical it is to do everything right mostly in scripts. If something goes wrong it would take you a few minutes, depending on the length of the script, to go and find what you missed or did wrong. Summary box-
The date for the ACT is coming and I'm not that stressed out really. I'm surprised really since the ACT is something big. Colleges will look at the test score and see whether they want me or not. It's a big deal unless you want to attend college at least. There is also the SAT exam, and people say that its much better than the ACT. I could agree on that, but everyone has their own opinion. For both of them there are practices, sessions, tutoring, etc., in other to help students taking them do the best that they can.
Since I'm going to take the ACT I'm going to focus on the ACT. In my school there are prep sessions for English, Math, and Science. Taking the time to go to these are important because there might be somethings that you might forget, solving things in other ways, learning tricks, and other subjects. Also, taking the time to actually prepare fro this exam is a good way of showing how serious you are taking this. However there are some students that work or that their parents won't let them stay after school, but there are other ways to prepare for the ACT. There are many websites and resources that you can use online that can help you prepare. I use Khan Academy (www.khanacademy.org/) to get a test that would help me upon how I did on the PreACT. There are other websites you could use that would do the same. I would do a variety as well because then you could have different opinions on what you need to work on and what you don't need to work on. As I said before tutoring is always an option, but I don't have the money so that's why if prep sessions or practices exams are free than you should take that opportunity. Hopefully I am prepared once it comes, but of course I don't have to get a perfect score I just need a 24-26 average. I don't need to have a 36 in order to get into a college, many colleges will accept a 24-26. Much of this is just making sure I have a goal and making sure I get to it. I'm really thankful for the teachers helping and the resources. Once you have finished AGAD you could go on to CTE Advanced Studies. For that class you need to do your own project and work on it for the entire year. And at the end of the year you do a presentation, fun right? I did this assignment to help me teacher with recommendation and although it was good I can't do it. I do have the option to do it, but I would have to do it on the laptop, which I don't know if it can handle it. My project was having to do full body characters and two environment scenes. Of course first I have to be recommended in order to full on and create this project.
Mudbox (www.autodesk.com/products/mudbox/overview) is a software where you can sculpt, paint/texture 3D models. You can say that it is similar to 3ds max, which is true, but then again it's good to know different software. Like I could do this in 3ds max and get a certificate too, but I chose to do something else. I saw that if you are a student you can get it for free for three years. Hmm, not a bad deal. The thing is using Mudbox it focuses on 3D. I'm personally not good at 3D, but this could maybe be easier than 3ds max. More people are doing concepts with 3d, which is why I want to have a good knowledge in 3d. Apparently you could also get a certificate in Mudbox, but I'm not too sure about that. And to be honest that's one of the reasons why I wanted to work in Mudbox so that I could accomplish something and I could put it on my resume. Of course this is all a plan and it is not final. That's why I have make another plan upon what to do for my independent project. But to be fully honest I'm still a bit unsure if this would be a good project. The grading on this will probably be difficult since my teacher hasn't played in Mudbox. So I am basically on my own in it. Summary box-
